The Southwest Louisiana Rifle and Pistol Club regularly hosts NRA Approved and Registered Tournaments, as well as "Fun Matches", which are low-key matches designed to introduce shooting enthusiasts to friendly, fun organized shooting sports. Please see the Range and Events Schedule page for scheduled events.

The Club has, upon request, hosted special events for charitable service organizations, such as 4-H and Boy Scouts. Groups interested in using the Club's facilities should contact the President, Jim Ely at (337) 855-1297 for details and requirements. 

The Club also has a table at the Lake Charles Gun and Knife Show held quarterly at the Lake Charles Civic Center, where interested persons can look at range photos and talk with Club members about our facilities.

STEEL MATCH COMPETITION

The initial Steel Match will be held on Sat. March 27, at 9 AM. Registration will be at 8 AM and Safety Orientation at 8:45 AM. $10 per competitor.

Only 22 LR handguns will be allowed, both metallic & optic sights are allowed.

We suggest you bring 5 magazines if possible, 150 rounds of ammo, holster or gun case, and hearing and vision protection

It will be held in the area known as the New Bay or Steel Bay.

RANGE RULES

Please pick up all usable spent brass and place on tables.

DO NOT put spent brass in burning barrels.
