NRA ACTION PISTOL COMPETITIONS
The Southwest Louisiana Rifle and Pistol Club has been hosting NRA Action Pistol competitions since 1987. The most famous NRA Action Pistol Tournament is the National Championship known as the Bianchi Cup which is held each May in Columbia, Missouri and is televised periodically on Shooting USA on The Outdoor Channel. Our club hosts monthly NRA Approved matches throughout much of the year and an NRA Registered Tournament, the Crawfish Cup Regional Action Pistol Championship each April, approximately four to six weeks prior to the National Championship.
Our club has excellent NRA Action Pistol facilities, with a Moving Target Range, a Falling Plate Range, and a combined Barricade and Practical Range. We utilize pneumatic turning targets on all cardboard target events, falling plate racks that pneumatically lock the plates at the end of the specified time limit and a four-target moving target set-up. The Falling Plate Range, the Barricade Event Range and the Practical Event Range can accommodate four competitors simultaneously. Our equipment is used year-round in all monthly matches and most practice sessions.
